There are 10,000 words that could be said about the 2nd MBSR cycle and the five day retreat that followed. However, the photos taken on the last day of the retreat says more than anything that comes to my mind. We are talking about people that are undergoing a transformation not unlike the phoenix and it takes two turns through the fire. Once to get it and the second time to consolidate the gains.
It is only fair to point out that these ladies are free to walk out at any time during the retreat. We started with 43 and ended with 41. Sitting on the mat for 8 hours in silence is a long day. There is no place to go when the movies of the mind turn to who knows what horror show. They just sit and know that it is not them and they don’t have to do anything.
one can learn not to react to discomfort thought and in so doing they get insights into the passing nature of both pleasant and unpleasant experiences
And that is the way it was last week. Do good and take care.
Yours in the Dharma
