The following post is some information about a new organizational member of PDN…read on:

About The Dharma Centre:
We’ve been ministering in correctional services facilities for the past 10 years, starting with Malmesbury prison. We now offer programs in two other facilities: Brandvlei Prison, Worcester and Helderstroom Prison, Caledon.
We are currently offering a five-month course in Brandvlei Prison, comprising 3 X 1-day modules and 2 X 2-day modules specifically focusing on sustainable rehabilitation and developing mindful awareness. (New posting on our blog today.)
Our services include two different programs, one being purely Zen (mainly Korean) with sitting groups in each of the three prisons and then the Maia program which we currently offer in Malmesbury and Brandvlei. The Dharma Centre is the first Buddhist group to offer programs in South African correctional facilities.
We are registered as an Ecclesiastical, Educational, nonprofit organization with S.A. Revenue services, and are mainly self funded. I am registered with Correctional Services as a service provider and prison chaplain.
