Insight on the Inside

We are one of Insight Meditation Community of Washington, Tara Brach’s sangha and are mentored by Hugh Byrne. We teach meditation in 5 facilities Washington D.C.

The International Association For Human Values Prison SMART(Stress Management And Rehabilitation Training) program provides the structure to deliver the common goal of uplifting human values within the criminal justice community. The program is a valuable tool for all those working to end the cycle of violence and abuse in society, whether through law enforcement, social rehabilitation, conflict resolution or human development. We work in tandem with probation departments, family and juvenile court systems, administrators and correctional officers of penal institutions, law enforcement departments. We teach powerful breathing techniques that have immediately calming physiological and psychological effects. We work nationwide in the U.S.

Siddha Yoga Meditation Study Courses

The teachings and practices of Siddha Yoga are brought to incarcerated men and
women through the Siddha Yoga Meditation Study Courses. The 17 year long Course
lessons describe in simple, down-to-earth language the timeless, transformative wisdom
of yoga. Lessons are received monthly and are free of charge to all who are
incarcerated. They are available in Spanish translation on request. Persons of all
spiritual and religious persuasions are invited to participate. Nearly 5000 inmates are
enrolled in the Courses in over 900 prisons in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Italy, the U.K.,
and Australia.
