Independent Study Courses
for Incarcerated Individuals
For individuals without access to in-person or group-based programs, we now offer several of our most impactful courses as independent study options through correspondence courses. These include two workbooks by Vita Pires, Ph.D.-- Path of Freedom: Mindfulness-Based Emotional Intelligence and Navigating Conflict with Buddhist Wisdom and Practices, both available by mail as correspondence courses (both are also available as courses on the Edovo app (on secure tablets now available to hundreds of thousands of prisoners across the U.S)

Edovo Courses & Books
Prison Mindfulness Institute offers a growing library of courses on the Edovo app (available on many secure prisoner tablets now), such as The Power of Awareness (an introduction to mindfulness), Practicing Yoga, Meditations for Resilience, and more in development. These self-paced courses allow incarcerated participants to transform personally through practical tools, guided reflection, and embodied practice, wherever they are.
We have also posted two of our published books on Edovo:
Sitting Inside: Buddhist Practice In America's Prisons by Scott Whitney
and Dharma in Hell: Prison Writings of Fleet Maull.
