How to Avoid Going Off on Someone

Updated: May 26, 2020

This sort of incident from a Path of Freedom facilitator in Cook County Jail, Chicago reminds us of why we do this work:

“One of the participants told of an incident he was involved in the week before where he was within an inch of ‘going off’ on another inmate. He related that two of the other participants in the class took him aside and talked to him about his anger and about what he was about to do. He thanked the two participants for saving him from ‘catching another case’ and also said he was proud of himself for holding his seat. When he was done the whole group started clapping.”
