By David Hōkai Abbott, a prisoner
To daily fresh touch the the-thousand things
and the World beneath your feet
is to step off the hundred-foot pole;
For neither is there vertical, horizontal,
emptiness, time, or space within the
open-hand;
But, Only the silent illumination reflects
even a profound and actualized light of a
Golden Lotus, within its clear-spirit
Wholeheartedly.
